On the coast, average yearly temperatures range between the low 40s°F and in the high 70s°F and 80s°F. As you draw farther inland, you are exposed to hot and drier summers but the higher altitudes are blessed with weather more typical of a four-season cycle.

     California is also known for its diverse climate as well as its geographical contradictions. The differences are quite clear if comparing the state’s two largest cities: San Francisco and Los Angeles have very different weather patterns.
